Be Inspired at BDF
Six Days of Dance & Community
August 3-8, 2020
Thank you for visiting the Brighton Dance Festival website! I am proud to announce that after the 2019 BDF we were able to donate $2,100 to the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. This brings our total donations to local arts, educational and charitable organizations to more than $36,000 since 2010! Very cool!
As we head in to our 11th season at BDF, we have been thrown the COVID-19 curve ball. My heart breaks to announce that we have canceled all in-person programming this summer. Your health, and our community's health, comes first. We will dance together in person again in the future, and we'll savor every moment of it! For now, I hope you will stay connected virtually with us!
My team and I are excited to continue planning our virtual programming for the 11th annual BDF, happening August 3-8! Whether you are a returning student to the festival, or this is your first time checking things out, I invite you to take a look around our website to see what is in store for 2020. You've probably already noticed our fresh, new look as we dance our way into this new decade!
It has been my pleasure cultivating an atmosphere where students can feel at home and capable of anything they dream. Things will feel a little different this summer as we navigate the virtual world of dance, but together we can continue the BDF traditions of community, kindness, and lots of inspiration! Happy dancing to you all!
COVID-19 STATEMENT - (5/21/2020) All in-person events at the 2020 Brighton Dance Festival have been canceled, including training programs, Dance Teacher Development Day, performances and community events. Virtual offerings will be available. Read our full statement here.
Brighton Dance Festival is a contemporary dance festival located in Brighton, MI USA. The annual summer event includes a wide range of intensive training classes taught by professional dance educators, company directors and choreographers. Classes are held in spacious, professionally equipped studios. In addition to technical training, students will be able to experience daily performances, professional networking opportunities, and career building talks with faculty. Each summer, in our efforts to put community first, BDF donates a portion of all festival proceeds to a local arts or charitable organization, totaling over $36,000 in the past decade.
