Introducing 2016 Brighton Dance Festival Faculty member Meghan Conway!
We are so happy to welcome Meghan Conway, Detroit-based dance educator and choreographer, to the BDF faculty this summer! Her contemporary style, and love of floor-work, is sure to be a hit with all of our students.
Check out this fun interview to learn a little more about Meghan!
BDF: What are you working on these days professionally?
Meghan: I am teaching and traveling. I absolutely love teaching and choreographing! It is my passion to inspire others and help them develop their love for dance.
BDF: Who has been a source of inspiration for you recently, either in your personal or professional life?
M: Inspiration in my personal life would be my fiancé Chris! He loves me with all of my craziness and I still don't quite comprehend why, haha! Professionally would be my students. I get chills watching my students grow and am excited about the accomplishments they make. It makes me push harder as an artist and a teacher.
BDF: You're on a cross-country road trip and you can have 3 other passengers in the car. Who are they and where are you going?
M: Oh man, ok... I would definitely bring my dog Gatsby because he is the best thing ever, and I guess I would also have to bring my fiancé ;) The third would be Will Ferrel because, next to sleeping, laughing is my favorite thing to do. I would say that we would go to a beach or a lake; somewhere with sunshine and water.
BDF: If I'm taking your dance class, what can I expect to experience?
M: Movement that feels good and lots of floor work! I also love music and I love matching my choreography to the levels in the singers voice or the instruments in the background, so I make students really listen to the music. Nothing is better than dancers who can match the dynamics of a song with their body!
Thanks for the great interview Meghan! We can't wait to laugh and dance with you this summer at BDF!
