Introducing 2016 Brighton Dance Festival Faculty member Jodie Randolph!
Director of Pure Existence Dance, Jodie Randolph, will be joining us again this summer! Don't miss her oh-so-feel-good contemporary classes at BDF!
Check out this fun interview to learn a little more about Jodie!
BDF: What are you working on these days professionally?
Jodie: I will begin working towards my MFA in Choreography this summer!
BDF: What has been a source of inspiration for you recently, either in your personal or professional life?
J: Recently I have taken an interest in origins and have been doing research in a variety of areas, including food sourcing, dance history, American history, you name it! I love to know where and how things began :)
BDF: You're on a cross-country road trip and you can have 3 other passengers in the car. Who are they and where are you going?
J: Well , I would definitely take you, Kathy! I would also take a few of my crazy dancers and we would be heading into the mountains to hike, retreat, etc.!
BDF: Aww shucks, thanks Jodie!
BDF: If I'm taking your dance class, what can I expect to experience?
J: You will experience a difficult and full-body warm up and some meditation (either beginning or end...sometimes in the middle of class!) You would also hear me saying to be authentic, to embrace your mistakes, and to take risks. I emphasize feeling rather than aesthetics as passion and goodness come from within.
Thanks for the interview! We can't wait to have Jodie back at Brighton Dance Festival again this summer!
