Brighton Dance Festival is a contemporary dance festival located in Brighton, MI USA. The annual summer event includes a wide range of classes taught by professional dance educators, company directors and choreographers. Classes are held in spacious, professionally equipped studios. In addition to top notch technical training, students will be able to experience a live music improvisational jam, daily luncheon chats with the faculty, in-studio performances and professional networking opportunities. A portion of all proceeds is donated to a local arts education or wellness organization each summer to help further the growth of performing arts in Michigan! #BeInspired with us this summer at BDF!

We are proud to bring together some of the top educators in the dance industry for intensive technical training at Brighton Dance Festival. All students will be challenged in our professional atmosphere, while being supported to explore their creative spirit in the classroom. BDF focuses on modern and contemporary technique, and also offers a wide range of styles like jazz, hip hop, african, ballet, and more. Training programs at BDF are geared toward experienced dance students. Internships are available for college and adult dancers ages 18 and up.

Students in our Professional Development Program for ages 16 and older are invited to choreograph student works to be considered for performance in the BDF Student Showcase. Rehearsal space will be available for student choeographers to reserve during the week. BDF Faculty members will be available to provide feedback to student choreographers, and several pieces will be selected by the faculty to perform in the Student Showcase/Benefit Concert on the final day.

The highly anticipated BDF Student Showcase Benefit Concert will be back in action in 2019! All full-time participating students will learn repertory pieces choreographed by our faculty to perform on stage at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. Students in our Professional Development Program are also encouraged to choreograph student works to be considered for performance, and several invited professional guest performers will round out the program. 100% of ticket sales will be donated to the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts to help further the growth of performance art in Livingston County! To date, we have donated $30,000 to the BCPA!
*NEW* this season, we are presenting the BDF Studio Series, with daily informal showings by a collection of professional dance companies, choreographers and performers. Located in the MADPAC Studio Theatre, these performances will happen each day, Monday-Friday, during lunch 1:00-2:00pm. FREE and open to the public!
