Thank you for visiting the Brighton Dance Festival website! I am proud to announce that after the 2018 BDF we were able to donate $500 to the Fund A Life non-profit organization, and another $600 to various dance companies in our community. This brings our total donations to local arts, educational and charitable organizations to $34,100 since 2010! Very cool!
I am excited to continue planning for the 10th annual BDF to arrive in summer 2019 and cannot wait to share my passion for dance with a studio full of amazing dancers! Whether you are a returning student to the festival, or this is your first time checking things out, I invite you to take a look around our website to see what is in store for 2019.
It has been my pleasure cultivating an atmosphere where students can feel at home and capable of anything they dream. As always, I look forward to continuing our traditions at BDF with studios full of incredible teachers, lots of summer heat and plenty of inspiration! Happy dancing to you all!
ABOUT BRIGHTON DANCE FESTIVAL
The Brighton Dance Festival was founded in 2010 by Kathy King, in partnership with Michigan Dance Project, Michelle's Academy of Dance & Performing Arts Center, and the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. For years, Michigan Dance Project had been running summer intensives, but Kathy saw a greater need for connection with the community, which sparked the idea to partner with the BCPA. This created the opportunity to support the local performing arts venue while also facilitating a more professional and exciting week of dance for students across Michigan.
Since 2010, Brighton Dance Festival has proudly donated $30,000 to the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts, $3,000 to Cleary University, $500 to Fund a Life NFP, plus hundreds more to area dance companies. BDF has also awarded over $25,000 in festival tuition scholarships to students across the Midwest!
Our mission is to provide a supportive and healthy environment for dancers of all ages to explore technical training and artistic freedom. We bring together top-notch local dance faculty and offer a wide variety of class opportunities.
In addition to technique training:
We look forward to seeing YOU at the 10th Annual BDF - August 5-10, 2019!
